About Myself
I'm Joshua Cartagena, a proud queer and glamorous makeup artist from the Bronx, based in New York City. I have a learning disability, with Tourette syndrome but that has never stopped me from pursuing my passion. Makeup is more than just beauty to me—it's an art form, a way to express creativity, identity, and transformation.
I’ve completed both the Master of Makeup Artistry Program and the SFX Makeup Program, earning a total of four professional certifications. I’m deeply passionate about both beauty makeup and SFX, from soft glam to bold, creative monster effects.
My journey has led me to amazing opportunities, including working with the Makeup Academy NYC, New York Fashion Week, and Swim Fest at a luxury hotel. At Swim Fest, I designed makeup and curly hair wave looks some models managing the work in sections with precision and style.
I believe in turning faces into canvases and using makeup to tell powerful stories—with passion, imagination, and care.
