Asha Education presents AVEDA Culture Clash

Racks of patterned dresses, pants, vests. Glittering jewels in neon, jewel tones, gold.  Inspired by a sophisticated tribal glam and soft folkloric femininity, the Asha Salonspa Education Team recreated AVEDA's hair and makeup looks from their Spring/Summer collection: Culture Clash!

Working with fellow MUA, Amna (@facesbyamna on Instagram), we provided all the makeup services for the day. Skin was soft and easy. All models were prepped with the Aveda Tourmaline Hydrating Creme for a super lux moiturized base. Then using Aveda Tinted Moisture and translucent powder, skin was perfected, but left feeling fresh and glowing.

We had fun using the 6 limited edition single eye colors (see earlier post for "first look" and swatches) to create the looks shown in the Aveda collection. My favorite look was the one with the most dimensions and complexity for the eyes- a look that Global Artistic Director Aveda Makeup, Janell Geason, calls Peruvian Bronze. A peachy pink blocks from the crease to the brows, a soft and warm metallic bronze covers the entire lid, and a charcoal pencil faded through olive shadow smokes out the bottom lash line.

Other looks utilize the softer eye shades of the palette in shades of Peony Blush and New Lilac. Emphasis was given to the dreamy watercolors of the hair and simplicity of bold shapes in the hair styling. I really love working with this palette - would absolutely recommend it to you all to try!
