Parallel to all of the major fashion collections for SS14, and now FW14/15, I have been obsessing over all things tribal. Multicultural influences from bright color contrasts to mixed prints to headpieces - are taking over the runways and my mind. I teamed up with my fav fashionista, Miss SARAROSE of Sararose on Oak Street, as she models a couple of my gypsy, nomad, tribalistic makeup looks. Everything she wears from jewelry to clothing is all available at her Gold Coast Boutique.
The first look is clean and bright. With minimal focus given to extravagant or detailed eye makeup, I could focus more on bold color choices. For the strong pop of a windburned cheek, I turned to NYX powder blush in color 25 Pinched. Another color focus was the super fresh lip pop of Makeup Forever's 12 color Flash Case in Turquoise.
The second look is graphic and strong. Drawing inspiration from Polynesian tattoos and Aztec design, black gel liner creates the perfect strength and impact in bold geometric shapes.
For hair, I experimented with casual texture. From a handmade feather and rhinestone headband to layered disheveled braids, have fun with texture by throwing something new in your 'do. Basically more is more. Add color, add pattern, add texture, and then keep adding. More.
