Cold-weather Heat!

Heat up the winter chill with bright, fresh tones that will bring your complexion back to life! Everywhere I turn, I feel like I'm seeing "winter brights" in Beauty. White eye liner, neon pink lips, sassy teal and cyan. It's everywhere! The last place this #trend? jumped out at me was in this month's ELLE UK, which features uberfab it-girl Suki Waterhouse. They - ELLE-  do #trialatrend every month: one page, one look, one brief description of a minor trend in beauty. After falling in love with the look of these bright hues for winter, I was glad to see their January feature was on winter brights. Let's face it, most of us get some sort of seasonal depression. It's easier to eat more as we bundle up in extra layers to trek outdoors; our skin is dry, even flaky, and we are feeling dull. Beauty remedy: slash a fresh and upbeat tone on the eyes or lips. The saturation instantly brings energy and life to our skin - and may even bring good energy to our mood.

I isolated a few quick products from my stash that seem fit for the occasion. These products can give you an idea of where to start if you want to try out the look: 1. NYX Eye Liner in SL04 Pure White. 2. ULTA Matte Lip Cream in Sugar Lips. 3. MAC Lip Pencil I'm Silly.

1. MAYBELLINE COLOR TATTOO BY EYE STUDIO 24hr Eyeshadow in 40 Tenacious Teal. 2. MAC Matte Eyeshadow in Atlantic Blue. 3. MAC Matte Eyeshadow in Sunny Spot.

Just remember that with this look: less is more. There is something so refreshing about the simplicity of one pop of color that is not competing for attention. Let your pop of color be the star. Play with texture: matte or shine. Matte colors will give a more modern edge to your look, but will need a little more glow in the skin to add balance To the look; shine will need to be balance by a more matte complexion.

Most of all, have fun! There are no rules. If your scared of brights altogether: keep rocking whatever makes you feel best. I'd love to know your winter pop colors so Leave a Comment or Share with a Friend. Keep it poppin', Joey.
